Located in Dubai Internet City, the Aptec Headquarters stands in glossy, aqua opulence. The project stands nine levels up and is almost entirely a glass curtain wall façade for the exterior, with distinct and sparing occasions of metal cladding. In consideration of the surrounding aesthetics, as they had been developing, the tones were kept cooler rather than warmer. The building massing is carefully crafted, using soft protrusions and recessions of a continuous elevation plane to add dynamically. This can be seen through the main entrance, where it appears like two different masses merging each other and intersecting aligned to the canopy of the main entrance. These two visual masses are distinguished by their glazing, as one corner is a horizontal, alternating layered teal color, while the other is an alternating horizontal navy blue. The project tapers at a central axis as it sits on a road intersection corner. The key initiative of this project is to create a subtly iconic building while respectfully executing using the limited budget.
